System Requirements for e-Business 7.1

To use e-Business 7.1, an organization needs to install the Aptify e-Business 7.1 website on a web server on your network (outside the firewall to access from anywhere on the Internet or inside the firewall if you only want to support access over a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection).

This section describes the hardware and software requirements for the server that will host the e-Business 7.1 website and the database server configurations needed for e-Business 7.1.

Note that the e-Business 7.1 web server will typically be a different server than the one that hosts the Aptify database. This is the recommended approach.

Web Server Hardware Requirements

At a minimum, a system that can run Windows Server 2012 R2 and IIS 8.5 can function as an e-Business 7.1 web server. However, Aptify recommends that an organization uses a system with at least the following specifications to host the e-Business 7.1 website:

Minimum Hardware Requirements

• 8 GB RAM
• 2 vCPUs
• Two (2)300 GB Disk Drives configured

Mid-Point Hardware Requirements

• 12 GB RAM
• 4 vCPUs

High-End Hardware Requirements

• 16 GB RAM
• 8 vCPUs

Web Server Software Requirements

The following is a list of software requirements for a computer that will host e-Business 7.1:

• The following operating systems are supported for the e-Business 7.1 interface:

  Version: e-Business 7.1

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 with the latest service pack.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2019
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2022

• Microsoft IIS 8.5 or higher with ASP.NET 4.0.30319 (or higher)

  Note concerning IIS configurations.

  When a feature in the list below shows child features, only those features are required for installation. When a feature does not list any child features, all of the child features are recommended for installation.

  • When configuring the IIS Server 8.5 and above, Aptify recommends that you install the following Windows features for a minimal configuration:

    • Enable HTTP Compression.
  • To manually confirm that ASP.NET 4.0.30319 is available on the computer, follow these steps:
    
    
    1. Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager (from Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools).
    2. Select the Application Pools List from the console tree.
    3. Right-click on one of the application pools (for example, the DefaultAppPool) and select the Basic Settings option.
    4. On the Edit Application Pool dialog, confirm that 4.0.30319 appears in the .NET Framework version drop-down list.

• Aptify 7.1 Windows desktop application with an active Aptify Object Repository.
• CM Tool Beta is installed.
   

Database Server Requirements

Your Aptify database server must meet the following basic requirements before running the Installer:

 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (or higher)

• • Aptify Database deployed and active in MS SQL Server.

Ensure that your Aptify e-Business 7.1 version aligns with your Aptify version, as defined in this table:

 High-end Hardware Requirements - Database Server

This is the base hardware for a high throughput system. For extremely high workloads, additional RAM, more CPUs and more disk spindles in the RAID array will be required. Consult with Aptify’s Infrastructure Specialists for additional information.
