In some cases, the products on a single order may be packaged in multiple shipments (for example, if the items are not all sent to same address or if certain products require their own shipping container). Aptify automatically determines the number of shipments included in an order based on the order line's Ship To information (if it differs from the order's Ship To details) and any applicable Groupings defined at the Shipment Type level (see Creating Shipment Type Groupings for details).
If an order has multiple shipments, follow these steps to specify a tracking number for each individual shipment:
- Open the order, if not already opened.
- Follow the steps in Shipping Information for Entire Order (One Shipment) to complete the relevant fields on the order's Shipping tab, including Date Shipped and Shipped By.
- Click the information icon to the right of the Shipping or Handling field in the Order's Summary area, as shown in the figure below.
- This opens the Shipping/Handling Details dialog.
- These instructions only provide an overview of this dialog. For complete information, see Understanding the Shipping and Handling Details Dialog.
- Double-click a shipment in the Shipping/Handling Details dialog to open its corresponding Order Shipments record.
- In the Shipping tab, enter the tracking number for this shipment in the Ship Tracking Num field.
- If applicable, enter the customer's account number with this shipper in the Cust Shipping Acc Num field.
- Click OK to save your changes and return to the Shipping/Handling Details dialog.
- Repeat the above procedure to add tracking information for the other shipments associated with this order.
- Click OK to close the Shipping/Handling Details dialog.
