About the Schools Form

Use the Schools record to list schools where students can take the course. The Schools record connects the Courses record to Companies records. Most information regarding institutions where classes are taught is stored in Companies records.

Access the Schools record from the Courses service from the Schools tab and select New.

A window displays.

Comments Tab

Enter any comments regarding the substitute course.

Course School Substitutes Tab

Use this tab to list courses equivalent to this course that is available at another school or institution. For example, if the course at School A is Accounting 101, the equivalent course at School B might be Introduction to Accounting. Taking either of these courses fulfills the same requirement for certification.

To add a substitute course to the list, go to the Course School Substitutes tab and select New. The Course School Substitute record displays.

Comments Tab

Enter any comments regarding the substitute course.

General Tab

School Course Name (required)

Enter the name of the substitute course.

Start Date

Enter the start date when this substitute course becomes available.

End Date

When the substitute course is no longer equivalent to the main course, or when the substitute course is no longer available, enter the last date that the courses are equivalent.

When the substitute course is no longer equivalent to the main course, or when the substitute course is no longer available, enter the last date that the courses are equivalent.

School (Required)

Enter the name of the school, institution, or company where the course will be held. (In the case of distance learning, enter the name of the institution sponsoring the course.) Use the Find feature to locate the school within the Companies service, or click the School link to create a new Companies record.

Contact

Enter the name of the contact person at this school. Use the Find feature or click the Contact link to create a new Persons record.

Date Accredited (Required)

Enter the date the school was accredited. The default is the current date.

Date Terminated

If accreditation for the school has lapsed, indicate the date that it terminated.

Rank (Required)

Enter a rank in this field. If your organization does not rank schools, the rank recorded in this field defaults to zero when you save the Schools record.

Status (Required)

Select the status of the school in relation to offering this course. Options are ActiveInactiveExpired, or Cancelled. The default is Active.
