Dashboard - Board Level Filters

I would LOVE to be able to add filter values to Dashboards. Something that would allow me to add individual changeable values that could then be used with the Entity List View (Or maybe a new Dashboard ELV component would be needed) in the SQL for filtering. NOTE: These SHOULD NOT be linked to an entity. They just enough data to generate the UI and give them a variable name. They should support standard Inputs (Text, Date, Number, ect), Combo, Data Combo and Linked Boxes.

For example I developed a Meeting Dashboard that had something like 3 List Views and 12-14 Chart Views that was used for live analytics of build up to a conference. But we (at the time) had to use an Entity Attribute to set the product id of the event that all the views used. This was annoying as then IT had to update it for each of the... I think it was 6 conferences a year.

NOTE: I'm not looking to make dashboards a PowerBI competitor, more like are there SSRS reports that don't need to be printed that if someone could just choose the Product ID or date range or something so that they can just see the data.
