About the Text Field Type

This is a standard field in which you enter text. A text field may appear as either a single line text box or a multi-line text box.

For multi-text fields, a scroll bar appears when the text in the field extends beyond the viewable area so that you can view the contents of the field, without resizing the form. The scroll bar appears for enabled fields and, for users with the proper permissions, disabled fields.
