Selecting Multiple Records in a List View

There may be occasions where a user wants to select more than one record at once. For example, when adding multiple records to a list. Follow the below steps to select more than one record in a list view:

1. Hold down the CTRL or Shift key and then clicks on the appropriate records.
   • Holding the Ctrl key while clicking fields highlights only those records that you select. Holding the Shift key while clicking two records highlights all of the records between the two selected fields.

Note that the number of selected rows is displayed next to the number of pages in the lower right-hand corner of the window.

Selecting Multiple Records in a List View - Aptify release 7.3 Enhancements

In Aptify release 7.3, users now have the capability to select multiple records in a List view simultaneously, such as when adding several records to a list.  This functionality is similar to the selection process found in the Windows OS, resembling the file selection process in Windows File Explorer.

To choose multiple records in a list view, follow the steps below.

1. Hold down the Shift key and then click on the appropriate records. It is possible to click anywhere within the record to select it.
   • Holding the Shift key while clicking two records highlights all of the records between the two selected fields.
   • Holding the Shift key while clicking only one record highlights all of the records between the first record and the selected record.
2. Hold down the CTRL key and then click on the appropriate records. It is possible to click anywhere within the record to select it.
   • Holding the CTRL key while clicking records highlights only those records that you select.
     
   Once the selection is done by CTRL key, it is not possible to select with SHIFT key. By doing so, the selection will be lost.
   Once the selection is done using CTRL key or SHIFT key, any attempt to select records without using the said keys will remove the previous selection.
   
   
3. Use mouse drag to select the records. 
   • Holding the Left mouse key while dragging it over the records, selects those records.
   • Holding the CTRL key and holding the Left mouse key while dragging it over different set of records, will select multiple sets of records.
     

SHIFT and CTRL key selection and mouse drag does not work for pagination. Only checkbox selection works for pagination.
