Adding a Dashboard Area

Dashboard areas are created from the Layout tab of the Dashboard Options form. Dashboard areas may be added to an already existing dashboard or to a new dashboard.

1. Click the Dashboards Areas service from the Dashboards application. 
   
   • If modifying an existing dashboard, open the dashboard from the list view.
     
2. Click the New Dashboard Area button, located in the top-left corner of the view, to open a New Dashboard Area form.
3. Enter a dashboard area name in the Name field.
4. Enter a description of the dashboard area in the Description field, if desired.
5. Select a Display Style, which describes how the various dashboard parts will display inside the area. There are four display style options:
   
   • Top-Bottom: The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the top of the dashboard area to the bottom.
   • Bottom-Top: The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the -bottom of the dashboard area to the top.
   • Left-Right: The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the left of the dashboard area to the right.
   • Right-Left: The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the right of the dashboard area to the left.
     
     
6. By default, the background color for the area is light gray. To specify a different color. See Selecting Dashboard Colors.
   
   
    
7. Set the position of the area on the Position tab. The position of the area is determined by specifying parameters for the top and left position of the dashboard area. See Setting the Dashboard Area Position.
8. Set the size of the area on the Size tab. The size of the area is determined by specifying parameters for the width and height of the dashboard area. See Setting the Dashboard Area Size.
9. Click on Save to save. The new area will appear on the dashboard.
