Global View Creation Support

The Global View Creation Support has been introduced in Aptify release 6.3 to overcome the challenges of accessing and sharing views created by individuals. This feature enables associations to use a standard set of consistent views defined for their departments. A view becomes a global view when its owner adds it to the dashboard part.

The Global View Support feature provides a facility for department heads to create dashboard parts where all the shared global views can be placed. The other members of the department can use this default dashboard to access the shared views. All members having access to the dashboards can access the shared views.

A Global view can only be accessed through dashboards.

To create Global view, follow the steps below.

  1. Configure View Summaries Entity
  2. Create View Summary Record
  3. Add View Summary Record to a new or existing Dashboard

Configure View Summaries Entity

Identify the view that you want to create as a Global view and follow the instructions given below:

  1. Log in to SmartClient using Admin credentials.
  2. Go to Framework -> Entities.
  3. In the Entities service, search for ViewSummaries entity. Open ViewSummary entity and record the EntityID.
  4. Go to the Applications tab and select the application as per your requirement. For example, Customer Management.
  5. Save and Close the entity record.
  6. Run the Process Flows given below against appropriate View Summaries Entity ID (recorded in step 3 above).

  7. Reset IIS to reflect changes on the corresponding Aptify Web application.

Create View Summary Record

Follow the below instructions to create View Summary record for the global view identified in the above section (Configure View Summaries Entity).

In this way, you can configure or add multiple views by creating a new view summary views record, adding new categories (appears in sections wise). Also, you can rank the records and categories accordingly. You can also update or delete the record by having appropriate user's permission on the View Summaries Entity.
  14. Click Save to save the View Summaries record.
