About List Views in the Web Interface

List views in the web interface are displayed in the same manner as the Aptify Desktop client.

Release  List View Features

Aptify 7.x

Supported Functionality

  • Creating a List View: The creation of list views is supported. See Using Views in the Web Interface for more details about the list view creation functionality.
  • Paging: Paging for list views is supported. However, the paging settings can only be viewed in the web interface. The paging settings for a view can only be modified using the Desktop client.
  • Sorting within the View: Aptify supports the ability to dynamically sort records by clicking a column heading in the list view.
  • View Hierarchies: If a view is configured to display one or more hierarchies, an arrow appears to the left of the first column heading in the view. Clicking the arrow displays the list of hierarchies. Clicking the heading of one of the hierarchies opens the sub-view and displays the records related to the top-level record via the selected hierarchy.
  • List View Captions: List view captions are supported for both stand-alone views and views that are part of a dashboard.
  • Prompted List Views: Prompted list views are accessible in the Aptify web interface. See About Prompted Views in the Web Interface for more information about the implementation of prompted views.
  • Grouping: This feature has limited support. Grouping must be configured for a view through the Aptify Desktop client.
  • List view toolbar options: The Aptify web interface list view toolbar includes many of the same options available in the corresponding Desktop client toolbar. However, not all options are implemented. Features that are not supported in this release are not part of the Aptify toolbar. Below is a list of the command buttons that are implemented in this release:
    • New: Clicking this option opens a new record in the corresponding service.
    • Open: Select a row within the view and click this button to open the corresponding record.
    • Delete: Clicking this option deletes the select record if the user has appropriate permissions. This is not supported in certain cases like when the record contains dependencies. In this case, a message is displayed that this feature is not currently implemented.
    • Refresh: Clicking this option refreshes the view to the most current list of records.

      Note:

The Auto-Refresh feature is not currently supported.

    • Properties: Select this option to view or modify the view’s configuration.
    • Auto-Resize Columns: Clicking this option sizes the columns in the view to fit the displayed data.
    • List View More Actions: Use the More drop-down menu to locate the additional features for interacting with records in a list view including:
      • Record History: Users can view the Record History of a record, however the Restore functionality is not currently supported.
      • Record Merge: Select two records from the view and then select this option from the menu to merge the records.

        Note

The Record Merge dialog does not launch from views in a dashboard or from certain views that appear on a record's tab (dynamic SQL-based views).

      • Add to List: Click this button to open the Aptify List Selection dialog to add the record to a new or existing list.
      • Add to Favorites: Unique to the Aptify Web interface, this option adds the view to the user’s Favorites list.
      • Excel Integration: Click this button to open a Save dialog for Excel. This exports the selected records and allows users to save the information in Excel format.

        Note

All exported files are saved in the .xls format. The .xlsx Excel format is not currently supported.

      • Reports): Crystal Reports are supported; however, the List, Detail, and Export reports are not currently supported.
      • Auto-Resize Columns: Clicking this option sizes the columns in the view to fit the displayed data.
      • Messaging: Clicking this option opens the Messaging dialog where you can send a message to one or more records in the view. See the Messaging section of this document for more information.
